That´s right. Additionaly listen to The Faceless, as said in another thread here they did their stuff with using pretty much line6-stuff (vetta, pod, etc)
 
Plus, as stated here before, Biomechanical's "The Empires of the World" cd was done on a PodXT. Honestly, when ever I listen to the album I can't really tell.
 
Actually, the problem isn't in the emulations of the real hardware, it's the hardware that's doing the emulations. when you have bad dsp, it has artifacts that show itself as a "fizz". That's why the internal line6 fx sounds better than than their hardware versions. In other words: The hardware doesen't perform as well as the software.

I hate that.

I've been working with these kinds of "close to reality" gear for a good 13+ years, and I'm still not satisfied. Maybe soon...

edit: Yeah, the PODxt has bad frequencies above 2000hz. Too bad. Cheap bastards.
 
I absolutely love my PodXT Pro. Obviously its not going to sound as good as a real amp but that goes without saying. Learn how to use it a bit and it will sound fine. Just remember to change settings with your ears and not your eyes, as sometimes you have to put in some pretty funky settings to get things sounding good.

Try the dual rec model, treadplate cab, 57 on axis, with the tube screamer mod as a boost. have a fiddle with that. I can upload a patch tomorrow if you want that sounds alright.

With the Pod, I dont really use it when it comes to final mixes, but its great for tracking guitars (I reamp the tracks later).
 
YEa anyone who says POD XT =shit is just a dumb fuck
because there has been 100's of posts on here where the pod xt tone has been fucking sweet.......So i dont think its the equipment its the USER

the dude that runs Foundation Recordings
he uses mostly pod xt / pod xt pro and he has some of the best sounding stuff on this board
 
its all a case of how well you use it.. the pod can sound great if you use it properly, otherwise it can sound shit if you dont know how to use it.
 
JoeyMusicGuy´s Triple Rectifier (Diamondplate model) tone is sick. I tried to get anywhere close with his tips but his tone pretty much do a golden shower on every POD tone I´ve heard for some modern metal sound.
 
^i dropped in on his studio a few days ago, and couldn't fucking believe the sounds he's managed to conjure up without using a single amp. i kinda wanted to dropkick him cause of it, but thought better not to.
 
so see right there is proof you can get away with using the pod xt
.....You just got to be as good as Joey Sturgis...and that is were alot of ppl fail.
POD-XT is a great piece of equipment for it is.

cant hear guitars that much.. your kick is up sooo much its unbelevable.. my speakers are just rattling lol its actualy all the bottem end.. my sub is turned off and its booming and well over powering lol

fancy sending me your mixes to have a go at mixing??


well good tracks tho:) i do like the music..
