Podxt recording

When I had one, I checked this out for myself and I couldn't hear any difference.

So, for my situation it wasn't worth the hassle of trying to sort out the usb method.
All I know is that when I opened sonar when the pod was connected, it took over the drivers... ie it was the only input available, and I couldn't hear it as I recorded.

We use headphones to hear the POD when recording.

nice pic (H)

and howdo you record via usb ? how do you hook it up.

We have POD XT Live and it comes with the USB cable. Plug that sucker right into the PC or Laptop. I think there may have been some drivers on disc. Once installed just plug and go. We mark a track for recording in Audition and it automatically uses the USB device (Podxt live) for input.

Hi Mendel, sorry. Analogs out into the 'rad box' then into a Summit Audio 2BA-221 then my converters into s/pdif into the 002. A little more complex than I explained earlier....sorry.

At The Gates tone for ya'! D'oh Pod XT Pro rightside. Just the Pod using the 5150 amp.

It's a little box made by this dude Hadley. It knocks off alot of the Pod's "fizz".
Here's my setup
021805system1.jpg

See that little box on the right on top of the Apogee? That's the 'Rad Box'. Next to it is the Summit Audio 2BA-221. Some guys say my tones have more bass than when they use it. They don't....my signal just runs thru these two units>>>Rad Box & 2BA-221 and they knock off alot of the digital harshness!!!!
Signal goes
Guitar>>>>>Pod XT Pro>>>>Rad Box>>>>2BA-221>>>Apogee>>>002

Hello all.

Just wondering if it is possible to record the dry clean signal and the processed distorted signal to two different channels at the same time with pod xt live.

Thank you.

My fault man...The 002 is Pro Tools LE's interface/console(Dongle). The grey thing on top with the faders.

The Rad box is on top of the purple 1U unit. It has a three way switch and stereo i/o. One handy piece of equipment to have if you like using the high gain amps in the Pod. It's passive(No wall warts or batteries, just plug and play!)

The 2BA-221 is a vacuum tube Mic pre/Direct box from Summit Audio (The silver box with the red and black knobs) I use it for the Pod || For Vocals || and for when mic'ing cabinets.

The Apogee PSX-100SE is that purple 1U piece. Above the B.B.E. Sonic Maximizer. It's pretty top of the line ($3500.00 Brand new) It's an AD/DA converter. It's amazing!!! The link goes to the PSX-100...the 100SE has a better power supply. Apogee has Rosetta 200's now for like $1700-$1900 U.S.D. that sound pretty much like this one. Use it when you mixdown your mixes and it's amazing just how much difference a really good pair of DA converters will do. You hear things you just don't hear with cheaper converters. And use it's AD converters when tracking!!!

The first piece is a furman power conditioner and the second piece is a Korg tuner. I only use the maximizer for when listening to C.D.'s! It's not hooked up to any of my direct guitar gear. But 'live' it runs with the KranK! Hope that helps some. Oh yeah....those are Sennheiser HD headphones...nice to have at least one decent pair of headphones :D
