Polished vocals?

So a friend of mine showed me this band, and what caught my eye(or ear for that matter) was the character of the vocals.

I know the guitar tone and whatnot aren't the best in the world, but I was wondering what gives the vocals that sort of characteristic(it's most noticeable right around when he says "envy" in the pre-chorus where he does those high-pitched notes). I don't really know how to describe it, except for it being really compressed and chorusy sounding.

I thought it was either directly from the mic/source or the singer himself, but I'm probably wrong. But that's why I'm asking you guys for help. ^_^ I tried the search bar by the way to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

+1 to doubling vocals.

toss harmonies in the vocals of the chorus. mix them in so they sit well. you want them to be noticed enough to cradle the main vocal line. not enough to be super noticeable.

Wow, thanks for the help guys! :D Never thought it was that simple.

@Harley Barley: Nothing really, but I thought someone would complain about the guitar tone sounding flat haha.
