As a whole I do not trust the government on any level to have my interests in mind. I think they should stay out of things as much as possible.

I agree with you that there are good and bad.

What I meant with the poll was along the lines of if you were to become engaged with the Police, as a suspect or whatever, would you have an implicit trust of them handling your case in a proper and fair manner ?
