Since, certainly at least ostensibly, this forum is supposed to be here for the purpose of uniting fellow Opeth fans around the world, if a majority of the fans who participate here vote that they would like to have an open discussion forum added, within reason of course... no porn spamming or any other variety of spam for that matter or anything else that wouldn't be tolerated in any other civilized forum, could a request possibly be made on behalf of said fans to include one under the Opeth banner? I really wouldn't think it would be too much to ask for, as long as we all agree to abide by the outcome.

Well... what do you think, Opeth fans?

Agreed. But must say that in my opinion, it would be better if this forum (not the Opeth one, obsviously) split in two: One for music and the other for general discussion.

I'm sure the band/Anna/whoevers in charge is aware of the option of making it a free forum, but they chose not to. Life goes on nonetheless.

I agree, but:

1. We've been through this before.
2. The "Non-Opeth Music Chat" page seems to be turning more into a general discussion page, music or not. Obviously within moderation lol:get it?); I mean, nobody's checking stock reports or anything, or trying to better their golf game. But Christ, some people here seem like they're looking for shrinks, consultants, what have you.
3. Even though I'm agreeing, it really doesn't affect me either way. As stated in #2, "Non-Opeth" seems to be somewhat general at times.

That said, I'll still agree. It's a good idea, but the forum gods really seem like they don't wanna listen. So good luck, dude!

...and if I'm banned for the above statement on the "gods", that's super weak...

I'd actually have to agree with Bluesky and just.. rather than make a whole new forum, just make the non-opeth section the general discussion. But again, i really don't care about forums that much. They pass the time and you get to talk to a select few d00dz.

Keep in mind that a majority vote doesn't make a given stance:

a) 'right'
b) practical
or c) at all likely to happen

Also keep in mind that there is a General Metal Discussion forum on here which is non-specific to any particular band.

With that said, I don't see anything wrong with having an Opeth general discussion forum.
