Oh, I didn't know there was oil sands in Ontario. But I wonder if this industry will still be able to make profit in like 50 years. But if you know about jobs in this industry in Montreal, well, I'm a cool guy. :Saint:

There aren't, I work in Alberta and live in Ontario on my days off. I work 14 days straight, 10 hours a day then I fly back to Ontario for 7 days off, then fly back to work for 14 days, fly back for 7, etc. So I get 17 weeks off per year + 3 weeks vacation + usually 3 weeks over Christmas, but the weeks I do work I am working the weekends and putting in 30 hours of overtime, so I still work just as many hours in a year as anyone else, but I get my days off in groups of 7 instead of 2... It's a pretty cool setup but it does get hard being away from home all the time, I can't imagine how some people do it up here with families and shit, it's only cool for me because I'm young and single.

Yeah dude, that's a pretty bizarre arrangement, but a cool one for where you are in life - I couldn't see myself doing it for more than a few years, but it's a great way to build up a shitload of cash as a foundation to get you on a roll!

Even Bachelor's degrees have been devalued by hordes of morons who want a piece of paper for the sake of saying that they have a piece of paper. The B.S. is for the jobs, graduate degrees are for actual learning.

I have done a 3 year degree in Music Technology, got accepted for Honours.

I'm currently applying for a PhD in Ambisonics + applied Surround Sound.

I choose secondary education degree BUT i just need to complete a couple disciplines to have my bachelor of computing science degree. I am delaying it - i hate the course and just thinking of spending half my income to pay for 2 disciplines makes my wallet hurt.

Media scientist in the making, probably wrapping up my degree/diploma later this fall. Kinda glad I've been able to to do a diploma before they changed to Bachelor/Master.

Could have wrapped this up already, but my work at the radio, the music/band and some unforeseen ventures (like game designing) have kept me off-rails a bit lately.

Some people have approached me about running for mayor lately, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to do the task justice. It's quite tempting, I have to admit. The support is humbling, to say the least...

I might do a doctorate in Media Science... just for the sake of it. ;)

Diploma in primary education.. not thinking of upgrading for its degree althoug been teaching skool kids for almost 6yrs.

My target is getting a degree in music!!

damn, i feel old with my PhD in Mechanical Engineering, but mainly I do CFD for rockets and jet engines for last 10 years. I wish back at the day I could pick something related to sound engineering or better electrical engineering, but that was not a case.

Do not settle for a job! Education is not a rubber-stamp with a price tag - it is what determines whether or not you can consider yourself a thinking being! The marketroids may have hundreds of millions of Americans fooled, but does that mean you should join them? No! You have... graduate school! You have freedom from bosses, and strategy meetings, and teamwork-building! Death to jobs!
