I am not racist, homophobic or any of these lovely defects of character that seem to cling to our race like static. Matter of fact it makes me sick to see it. That being said I saw the clip several times and mostly what I came away with is that the guy is a hack as a stand up, tried to get it going with the heckler and it got way away from him. He couldnt bring it back and just burried himself deeper and deeper. Is the guy a racist? I have no idea. Could it have gotten so ugly from a non racist? dont know..... just sayin what I think.

The best part was his apology on Letterman. He says "afro-americans" and the crowd started laughing because it looked like a bit and Jerry says "Stop laughing, it's not funny!" At that point is was hysterical.

The word Bigot, according to the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language 1977 edition, applies to "anyone with strong opinions, esp. in the area of race." That describes everyone. Not just racists. Pro-civil rights people, myself included, are bigots by this definition.

I'm racist against whoever broke into my car. Whatever color they were (?), I hate the pieces of shit. And I'd love to hang them from a tree.
I'm sure if I knew the color of their skin, I'd call them the offending name. If it was a couple black dudes who broke into my car, I'd call them my pals. BUT I have friends who are black- I wouldn't call them that. I wouldn't even think that.
I have a lot of Mexican friends too. But if I knew the guys who broke into my car were Mexicans, I'd probably call them spics.
Also, if it had been some white folks who broke into my car, I'd call them piece-of-shit white trash motherfuckin' cracker-ass-crackers. But I'm not racist against white people either.

I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. I mean what he said was really stupid but Jebus Christ do they need to make such a big deal out of it?
