Released today!

Anyone picked this up yet? I don't think my computer can run it, but I'm getting a new one in a few weeks so I think I'll just buy it this afternoon and run it on low everything if I can.

Don't do that! You have to play it in it's full glory! I played the 1st Portal on a netbook because my PC was in a box at the time and it was horrible... when I hooked up my PC and turned on Portal 1 with max settings I got really depressed lol. So upgrade yer pc naw!

Crap. I just got home and realised that along with my computer barely physically being unable to run it, I am also completely and utterly out of hard drive space. This'll have to wait a few weeks.

Let us know how good/bad it is but don't spoil it!

It's the best game I've played this year! I think it'll beat Mass Effect 3 and Gears 3 for game of the year imo.

Yeah, totally slamming it maxed out 1920x1200 at 4xAA 16xAF. Actually feels like they used the same old engine. Doesn't look anywhere near as good as Crysis 2 did on 'Extreme'.

That aside, I look forward to the co-op stuff. It's just that my mate keeps getting black screen/game hang issues so we can't have at it yet.

IT'S SO GOOD. The first one isn't even remotely funny compared to this one, and I was on the floor laughing through all of it. Graphics aren't anything revolutionary but that was to be expected. It looks a LOT better than the first one, and runs just as smooth though.

Played this for like 4 hours straight on co-op mode with the girlfriend last night... it's fucking AWESOME, the cooperative aspect of it is great fun. Haven't touched single player yet.
The robot characters are awesome.

It makes most sense to buy it on a console since they give you a download code to snag it on your PC with - will be picking it up for PS3 as soon as... yeah I have no idea when, but I'll be getting it.

I was gonna buy a PS3 copy considering you get a PC copy free with it, but I decided against it. I'd never touch the PS3 version since pretty much any PC made in the last few years could handle this game with the graphics cranked up, add mouse and keyboard control into the mix and it means I'd simply be paying £20 or so extra when I could just buy a PC copy.

Fuck it, I bought it.

Turns out it runs better than Portal 1, even though it looks a lot better. I mean I'm running it on everything low, 640x480 res, but it's smooth as fuck and the gameplay is just as good.
Played a couple of hours of coop and about an hour of single player so far. I'm hoping there's gonna be some more story (and some more Wheatley) in SP. Coop is pretty amazing. It must be impossible to design all these challenges that are hard, and take a while to sort out, but still easy enough that you never get frustrated and search online for a walkthrough. Really well balanced.
