i lived in nor cal for 5 years, and last time i checked everyone was still saying "hella"

i grew up around SF, where hella was just a part of one's everyday vocabulary...never realized it was a "norcal" thing until i moved to SLO

Theres another word, "tight". Still hear that one all the time.

My favorite is sick. I never really started saying until until I started using it almost in jest, as a reference to those who use it regularly. It must be said in a really forceful, almost wisper-like tone. "SIIIIIIIIIICK!"
