Would anyone be into doing a version of a Sepultura song or something??? Id really like to do 'Territory'. I doubt id be able to program the drums at all, haha, so someone will certainly need to help with that. I am good for gtr though.

Thats a great idea man! thanks for that suggestion. I would rather collaborate with some people, but if all else fails..
allthough if i found a drum midi, that would certainly speed up the process. im gonna look. thanks again for the idea!
 
thanks for the link. after Zack suggested it, i went and found the midi. its perfect. i gotta play with the tempo though to get it perfect, right now, i have it set to 140 and it sounds pretty good. im gonna start tracking guitars today. yay!!!!!:rock:
 
Although the "band" seems to be complete, I would loooove to hear the result! I really dig the idea of doing songs together this way, but as gtrs are made by KeithReyn, the drums are already found, bass is staffed, my vocal skills suck big time and keyboards are out of the Sepultura-scope, I will play the audience ;-)
 
Hey Rif- Thanks for your words!

Unfortuantely for me, i dont think i can nail the solo in this song. i havent tried it yet because ive been redoing the guitars, i have a sound i think im happy with, and i needed to correct a couple issues in my first takes. ANYWAY....does anyone wanna contribute the solo for this song?
Also, i was gonna upload the session once its done for everyone to have fun with the mix.
I uploaded a clip that i made yesterday of what the sound kinda sounds like. These are the first gtr takes, so YES i know there are a couple issues, haha.:goggly:
The drums are the downloaded midi file running into SD2.
The Kick and snare are both replaced though.
double-tracked gtr going through the Line 6 Gearbox plug, and an AWESOME preset made by a guy on guitarampmodeling.com Its called "Framus Cobra Lead". I tweaked the eq a tad though.

I think its gonna sound fucking awesome when its 100% complete!!!
Of course there are much better mixers on here than i am, so i can only imagine what you guys could do to it.

sure, upload the guitar and drum tracks to a site like sendspace or anything and send me the link via pm, I'll track bass and vocals on reaper and send you the separate tracks the same way, does that work for you?

about mixing and stuff, would you like to do it yourself or both or what? I'm open to anything, I'm currently finishing the mix of my band's demo, it would be my first official mix so I'm still new on that

Yeah, that sounds good. As far as mixing it, youll have the files, so mix away. Ill prob do a mix, and if people wanna grab the sessions, everyone can do a mix! haha. I would, however, like one of the pro mixers here to do a mix, id love to hear the result when its mixed by someone who is daaaamn good. this site just has a buncha guys like that! haha.


Once this song is done, i was thinking maybe something off of "Burn My Eyes" by Machine Head. Id like to keep this going. it could be a ton of fun.

great idea, we should each give a mix a shot and see if some more experienced guys from here could do one too. If I manage the time to do these stuff I'd love to go on, burn my eyes is great material for this kind of stuff, simple metal setup, no keyboards and double/multiple tracked vocals or stuff like that

Btw I have some decent experience programming drums on FL studio and just got reason 4 but haven't started using it yet, I'm getting tomorrow some real drum samples that a friend recorded directly from his real drums in his rehearsal place, The territory one is done of course, but for a next one I could do the drums if you like, I'm gonna pm you my messenger address so we could keep in touch
