i've always been *completely* blown away by this picture of this seven year old italian girl who died in 1902. her body was exhumed in 1995, and due to her body fat turning into a waxy substance called adipocere (sort of similar to soap), the corpse was totally preserved in its original state (i guess this only happens only under certain wetter conditions?) anyway, this picture was taken in 1995!

that is fucking amazing.
i'm so thoroughly impressed. she really looks like she's just sleeping!
now that's one awesome trick. sorry, but i really can't think of any kids who could possibly be cooler than her. can you?
