ey up, Ive been using pod farm for about a year now in logic pro 9, and been getting pretty close to getting a Devil Wears Prada crisp chugging tone, but it lacks the "huge/fat" sound that someone else I know of can achieve with the same software!

so, if anyone could suggest good amps to use or plugins I should download, to get a "Roots above and branches below" sound or just give it extra presence that would be cool :p

cheers

well first off, let us know what version of pod farm you are using. Because I could suggest the cali diamond plate, but i wouldn't know if you have it or not.

Secondly , post a clip. it would be much easier for us to tell you what your tone is lacking.

tubescreamer + treadplate + treadplate cab + 0% room + condenser mic.

but to accomplish the really fat finished product, you need a REALLY good bass tone to put it all together, that's probably what you're missing. and yes, post a clip for more help.

yeah mann, bass is crucial. if you haven't already practice with true baller plug-ins like SSL Duende. 30 days risk free.

alsl, a great limiter/clmpressor to learn with cann help. artsacoustic makes one that I a/b with.

another suggestion is if you find your sound too thin after compression, boost 100 hz with a shelf 6 db after the tubescreamer!

cheers for the reply guys, ill post a demo up on here as soon as I can, not at home right now :p
but yeah im using the standard POD farm (basic version) that comes with the UX2 package (toneport) and Im thinking of buying the metalshop pack (which comes with the diamond plate i think).

and im interested about this bass tone thing, I never thought it would actually fatten the guitars, just provide the lower frquency part :p but hey if you could post a with and without bass then im sure that will convince me to focus more on the tones there! If im honest I would love an "of mice and men - the flood" bass tone aswell :)
