Taken at Cane's just recently.. A new red shirt sighting :)

My favorite photo that I took of Aja:

Aja story:

Shortly after seeing the Maidens for the first time, me and Dar were at Motorhead at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Linda was filling in for Michelle Meldrum's drummer that night, so Aja came to see her. We were sitting in the front row of the balcony and I saw Aja walk up looking for a place to sit. I nudged Dar and told her that was the singer of the Maidens behind us. She leaned over and tapped Aja on the shoulder and offered her a spot next to us on the bench. We told her we were new fans of the Maidens and we watched half of Motorhead's set with her until she got to go down on stage with Motorhead:

My story of Aja, which a few have heard is my first signature line. Puckie and I had just seen the girls a week before (my first time) and we went and saw Motorhead at the House of Blues in Anaheim. Since that day I had surgery, Puckie was able to get us the seats upstairs instead of floor, since I could not stand long. Anyways, while we were watching the show, Paul whispers to me that Aja is standing right next to me. I looked over and Yeppers there she was in her long leather trench and all. I tap her and said "I know you!" and she was the nicest person ever and she ended up sharing my seat with me and we have been buds ever since. I'm really glad to call her friend and will miss her but hope to catch her again on her own.

Hey we have the same story honey..

Thanks red shirt guy!! Now WE need to take a picture together with our red shirts :)

My favorite Heather moments are meeting her at NAMM and seeing the wonder in her eyes when we entered the large hall that has the bulk of the widgets and gadgets.

That and at load out after the last Cane's show she played she was picking at Chris and for whatever reason kept yelling at him, "Hall and Oats!" over and over.

Aja was at a show some guys was yelling something while she was talking and she said something to the effect of,"you don't interrupt a woman when she is speaking. I just gave you the secret to 20 years of marriage." The whole audience busted up.

That would be cool. Now if we can only get Aja & Heather & Linda & Wanda & Sara in the middle...hmmm...or us in the middle. Well, that's wishful thinking at this point since we won't be able to catch them all in the same room at the same time anymore. We'll just have to catch them one at a time!

About 5 years ago I was fired from a band here in Minneapolis. That band had a female vocalist with the ego the size of Texas and as big of a drinking problem to match. Anyhow, a few years after that firing, I took a trip to LA and saw the Maidens @ Paladinos. Seeing Aja on stage with her incredibly long hair, magical stage presence and energy flying like sparks off of her, impressed me to no end. I watched her and kept thinking that " this is the real deal and that singer back home is a fake". When the Maidens were done playing, Aja shook hands with alot of people up front. She shook my hand and I could feel her warm energy and I will never forget the beaming smile that she gave me.

Lots of people can sing, however Aja has that extra something special. She has star quality.

I didn't get to know who took these pictures, but much kudos to them.

These pictures were taken on my very first show with the Maidens - January 12 of this year at Paladino's. Being that it was the first time I had ever seen the Maidens, I had butterflies in my stomach when I approached the merchandise table after the show. I didn't know how I would talk to them. Then, after talking to a couple of fans, Heather turned around and saw me. She shook my hand and asked me how I enjoyed the show. I told her that she and the rest of the girls were awesome. A minute later, Aja appeared. She greeted me and asked me if I had a good time. Of course I did. Before heading out home. I thanked each of the Maidens and wished them well.

It had been a good three months since I had seen the Maidens and four since I talked to them in person when I went to the OC Tavern show on May 2. While I was standing on the front row, Aja quickly looked at me and said, I love your shirt." When I arrived at the merchandise table, Heather welcomed me with a warm hug. I told her she and the Maidens were spectacular that night, and I told her I'd like the Maidens to tour the Philippines in the near future. She said she'd love to visit the country someday.

May 24 - When the Maidens posted a bulletin on their Paladino's show saying it started at 8:00, I arrived at around 7:45. Turned out they weren't actually performing until around 11:00, and I had forgotten about the supporting acts. Sara, Wanda, Aja and Heather - along with Dennis and Jeff - were surprised to see me so early. The girls decided to have dinner before visiting Mark and Linda - who were arriving from Michelle Meldrum's funeral. Meanwhile, Sara went out to pick up one of her guitars. I asked Wanda if it was cool for me to hang out with them. Since Linda had added me to the guest list that night, Wanda allowed me to hitch a ride with them.

We arrived at a Thai restaurant about a mile away from Paladino's. It was a different atmosphere for me, as I wasn't used to talking to the Maidens in a quiet environment. While I spent most of dinner talking to Wanda, Dennis and Jeff, I couldn't help but notice the interaction between Aja and Heather. They had conversations with each other as if they were close sisters. They compared their heights, their shoe sizes and whatnot. Since I already had dinner earlier, I ordered some fried bananas, which I shared with the girls. BTW, muchas gracias to Dennis for treating us to dinner. From that point, the girls and Jeff headed to Mark and Linda's while Dennis drove me back to my car so I could pick up some friends to see the show.

At the end of the show, I had my friends Ivy and Scottie (who run their own band called The Pirates Siren) meet the Maidens in person. Ivy had told me that both Aja and Heather were her two favorite Maidens. Before we left, Aja gave me a hug and told me there are great opportunities and fortunes wherever I go. And after Dave Grohl had his picture taken with the Maidens, I had mine.

On a side note, I'd like to thank RJ for the Egyptian mask. Yes, it's torn beyond repair, but it's still a great memento.

My moments with both Aja and Heather - as well as all of the Maidens - were some of my favorites. It's always been an honor to have met with them and have them in my circle of friends.

My favorite Heather and Aja moments were driving with them to and from LA to Humbolt and getting to know them a little. One thing they had in common and something I found interesting is you don't have to be a life long Iron Maiden fan, or ever really have listened to them for that matter, to excell in an Iron Maiden tribute band.
My favorite Heather moments have to be listening to the first 2 Iron Maiden albums with her on the trip home. The first time for me in a long time and the first time EVER for Heather! Heather is such a super talent and professional! What a super cutie and super sweetie as well!:worship:) Just being goofy with her and her equally super cutie/super sweetie partner in crime, Sarah with an "H" is probably the one thing I will miss the most and miss now a whole bunch!
My favorite Aja moments were singing crappy show tunes and moldy oldies over the walkie-talkies with her, Linda and Mark to pass the time on that LONG trip. There is NOTHING this talented woman can't sing and make sound great! I will miss hanging out with her "brother" David at the merch booth, trying to hit $2,000 in sales. What a super young man she's got there!

I didn't get to know who took these pictures, but much kudos to them.

I remember snapping this photo for you. I like Heather's two handed drinking (and they're both almost empty!).

Only Aja's comment that on the flight back from the N.Idaho gig, she "Slept like a Baby."

Nobody else has a favorite moment or pictures to share?:err::guh: Brian? Red Shirt? Danny? Chris? Jeff? Jeff, you should have about 106ish! lol!
fav moment? Lots! Pictures to go with them? Hardly any. One that comes to mind is seeing maiden for the Brave New World tour. As I'm walking out I see the iron ladies. So, I walked up. Sara's like "Follow us!" So I did. I realize they're heading for the backstage. The ladies go through security, but they stop me. I ended up bribing the guy to let me through for $40 bucks (c'mon, it's freggin IRON MAIDEN!). He lets me in. I ended up hanging with the laides backstage and getting a few pics (unfortunately I don't have an account to post them (need to do!)). The fav personal shot is Mark snapping a picture of me getting my Red Shirt signed by Steve Harris! The maidenS website has a picture of me and Linda with Adrian. Not a great shot, but a memorable one. One shot that is cool is on Sara's website. It's just a great shot of me in the front row all pumped up (scroll to bottom)! http://www.sarabaracuda.com/photos_theironmaidens.htm
Another funny moment is after seeing the iron ladies perform at I think the OC Tavern show, I went to say goodbye to Aja and she's preparing for a hug goodbye and I say "I'm all sweaty, you don't wan to hug me" and she says "ah, that's ok" and gives a hug anyhow. Rock on mang! Gotta love that.
