in the corner!! I have half a mind to go to that and half a mind to

Hehe, they were an essential part of the outfit I did ask the light technician in advance, to make sure to have enough light on stage when it was my turn to go on, so I wouldn't trip over any cabels or whatever Cause those shades do indeed block quite a lot of light!
