Ha, yeah-- looking at that pic I think that was still the M1 before we got the M1A1s. That was a (practice) HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) round.

I was a loader for a little bit of my stint, though I spent the bulk of the 3 years as the driver, which is easily the best job/most comfortable position.

We had a killer crew the last year I was in-- we shot high tank in battalion which included a perfect night score. Our loader was insanely fast-- I think we could shoot about 3 rounds in 10 seconds, and he definitely did not lap-load.

Don´t know too much about tanks, but that is fucking fast!
Yeah, being the driver is an easy job, I just spent 6 months down there, driving an (Electronic Warfare) Piranha IIIC...
