Potensiometers ? Duncan, DiMarzio, Radio-Shark ? lol

Push pull tone pots are normally for coil tapping to get singlecoil sounds. great for clean tones, but as you've discovered they're noisy for gainy stuff.

As far as pots go, as long as they aren't scratchy then I don't think any more about them.

Depending on which pickups you buy, you might be able to get the manufacturer to send you new pots for free. I got a set of H-S-H Blackouts and requested some pots, SD sent em without even asking for proof I bought anything.

If you really want to geek out about pots there's an episode of the home recording show interviewing one of the guys at Bourns (they make THE best variable resistors).

Bourns pots are the ones you want if you for the guitars you are using for a lifetime. They are not cheap but are military grade and will last you 50 years or more.

And another podcast comparing caps for guitar tone pots.

I don't care much about guitar modding but Ryan loves to talk about it.
