Potential oxymoron of the day

Humans classify things. It's what we do.

Now quit feeling sorry for yourself and your people, or you never will.

You decided to quit when they decided to get awesome?

Yup just wasn't my style of music to be playing. Besides they picked up a great guitarist after me. I'm not bitter about it, it was my choice to leave cause I really wasn't into the music.

I have always been more into the Prog side of things and just playing brutally fast and heavy wasnt my thing. I left the band I joined after that one too after Roadrunner signed us to a distro deal. They were more like Life Of Agony and Biohazard, nothing but cut time and break down grooves.

I am just very picky about the music I make. I did the touring thing, big studio thing, and honestly I wasn't cut out for it. I prefer to write my songs my way and enjoy them. Guess I am just a music snob when it comes to my own "sound".

I am very proud of the music I have created.

Hey to each his own ya know ... DM is just really not my thing. I prefer vocalists who "sing" melodically. WD, Geoff Tate (in the 80s anyway), Joe Lynn Turner, Ray Gillian, Halford, Dickinson, Barlow .... you get where I'm going with this.

Today guys like Russell Allen of Symphony X and Jorn Lande just floor me. There are a few guys who sing with that DM kind of vocal that I like, Randy Blythe from LoG is one of them as is Jeff walker form Carcass. I guess its really being able to understand the lyrics, even though the aforementioned guys "growl" they still enunciate the words and make them intelligible.
