Power Conditioners?

How important are they? Wich devices should i atleast connect to it? And wich ones i shouldnt?

Pretty important if you strive for high quality/low noise recordings. You should connect anything that uses electricity to it (monitors, outboard, interface if it's not bus powered)

Every power conditioner I found has only one kind of socket (3 poles monitor-like) but I have lot of gear that has the classic mini connector (guitar pedal like), for example my Octopre...I don't know how to deal with them

Clean Power are as important as Room Treatment, IMO.

Suprisingly, low-end power conditioners don't do that well of a job and have a ridiculous price to performance ratio. You're better off bringing in an AC line from the distribution point, the ghetto way.

High-end power conditioners would just rip you off, considering how cheap and easy to make the circuits really are.

However, if you're getting an Online UPS or a Pure Sine Wave inverter go for it and and fuck DIY.

You'd find 2KVA Online UPS's by Apollo (a chinese brand) for under $700. That UPS alone can beat the shit out of any power conditioner. That's because power conditioners don't generate a Pure Sine Wave. That is, your current isn't stable at 50hz or 60hz, depending on where you're from.

No need to go broke on APC (check out the price lists of their Online UPS' if you want to).

Make sure you get REAL power conditioners. like furman 1215 or higher. Without regulation its almost a waste of money IMHO.

connect anything that you will record with to them. That means anything in your chain. I have the PC on its on separate UPS system but other than everything except my tuner is on my conditioners.

Without regulation it's just a glorified surge protector, yeah.

I don't feel I get much benefit from my Furman PL8CE, but the APC 1500VA I run the computer off is constantly accounting for the frequent voltage over/underflow here.

Im totally with Ermz on this 1, i got the APC Line-R 1200 and that think beaps away regulating the power spikes and dips before even touching my PC, UPS or Outboard Gear! Do yourself a favour and get a APC Line regulator, they so cheap!

Thx for the info. I aint using high-end stuff. (profire 2626 - ADA8000 - GAP pre73 (its on its way tbh)) So i am not gonna buy/neither can afford some 700$ stuff. So if basicly get this ugly thing. http://www.muizenshop.nl/p/apc-ups-line-r-power-conditioner-reg-1200va/28200/?utm_source=beslist&utm_medium=cpc And connect for example this to it http://www.thomann.de/be/samson_powerbrite_pb10_pro.htm at wich i connect, my pc, monitors, interface (although i am gonna need some adaptor plug), preamps and guitar amps and whatever i use. I normally should get a cleaner or more pro-sound? Not looking at skillz lets say :Smokedev:

It funny that you commented on this one because I was about to ask if there's any benefit in Australia. I've never really heard anyone down here say much other than it's surge protection. Mind you that's about two people, hardly a valid sample group.

One question, is it going to stop noise getting into my pickups when I lean towards my outboard gear?

To OP is there an actual problem you are trying to solve? The reason I ask is that IMO if you need one you're probably going to know what it is you want it to achieve.
