Hi guys, I have a question for you that I'm starting to get really desperate for an answer to.
I will (hopefully) soon order a peavey 6505+ head, but I'm going to order it from USA since it will save me over 1000$(!!!)
Now the problem is that the american powernet runs at 110 volts and the norwegian(yes I'm a viking and polar bears run around in the streets) powernet runs at 220 volts.
I need somekind of power converter to prevent my amp from melting down or blowing up!
So far, the only thing I've been able to find is this:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Guitar/Effects?sku=331508

will this do? Or will I face terminal meltdown?:loco: :hotjump:

I sure hope you guys will help me!

You won't want to use the one in the link you posted..... I used one like that and it couldn't handle the amperage and wattage of my head and it melted.... You would need one of the good power converters.... That head sucks about 400 watts, so be safe and get something rated over that, like one of these....

Go with the 1500watt one and you'll be set.....
Be warned that when I used one it added a bit of hum to my sound.....

It wasn't bad, my XXX head is noisy as hell anyways so i really didnt notice it over the other noise. But doing an A/B with it off and on i could tell the difference.... But buy a good one and you probably won't even have any problems.

No problem.... I had the same issue when I was in Iraq, everything was running off of 220v and all my stuff was 110v....

What about this one? will this one do? I'm just checking out differnt possibilities. I'm probably gonna go for something like the ones wolfeman mentioned, but i'd like to check out a few more.
