Power vs. Death

We get way more death-style vocals here than power-. What's your opinion? I guess it's just easier to growl than sing. Please don't assume that I hate death metal or black or anything like that. I'm more into melodic black or death though, like Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, Death, At the Gates, etc.

I prefer singers who SING..not grunt. I like some death/black style, but very few. I would much reather hear someone singing clear, high, melodic vocals any day. It seems around here we have more of the grunt/growl style unfortunately.

Napalm Death are NOT melodic in any way. They're grindcore and pretty bloody good as well.

As for singing, it depends on the music it's accompanying as it has to complement the sounds. Iron Maiden couldn't have a grunter and Morbid Angel wouldn't sound right with clean vocals. Even a band like Opeth, who do both, have certain vocals to go with certain types of sound.
