PP USA VII: Annual Behind the Scenes booking thread

Just so folks understand, Sinergy hasn't released an album in *five* years. I know they have one scheduled for the end of the year, but that's quite a risk for me when so many other options are available.

True. And Children of Bodom is so busy.. touring (taking away Alex Laiho). I'm sure that's a main cause.

Is there any thoughts of having Symphony X come to PP next year? (maybe one of you here asked this question already but I haven't checked all 4 pages for it sorry)
I'd love to see them play PP very much. This year I was hoping for Evergrey and Symphony X as headliners, and you gave us Evergrey. and i am all too thankful for that choice. Because Evergrey and SX are my fav. bands. I have almost all thier albums, and with SX coming out with a new album soon, I think they'd be fitting for PP next year. It's all up to you though Glenn.

I'm curious to see how Glenn handles SX in the future. He'll have to balance the repeat factor and that they figure to tour the states extensively, against the fact that they're a PP favorite and have a appeal to both Prog and Power fans.

LOL. No problem, I'll volunteer to handle this for you... book 'em.

Between forgiving Nevermore, talking Iced Earth into taking less money, getting After Forever to take your calls, solving Riverside's visa problems, and bringing back Redemption and Vanden Plas, we already have 7/10s of your line-up for '07 set. Now, you just have to figure out the last three.

Glad I could help.:loco:

I'm always up for some Symphony X, but I think they should have some new material before they are brought back. The Odyssey was released in 2002, so these guys are way overdue for a new album.

And you forgot I'd rather remove my pubic hair with a blow torch and a cheese grater than sit through another PoS live set.

In all seriousness, my 7/10s set list suggestion is only possible if Glenn doubles ticket prices.

If I understand correctly, they are working on the new album now, and hope to have it done later this year, provided that Mike LePond's health problems clear up.

Under different circumstances, I would join you in such an undertaking; however, being a crew member, I value PoS's long set times as a chance to go CD shopping, grab some chow and catch up on my sleep. :D

So Glenn has posted his behind the scenes story for previous PPUSAs as well? I did a search and did not come up with anything for previous shows. If posts such as this exist, please point me to them. I may have only been to one of Glenn's events, but I like hearing how they come together. Thanks.

That's because the PP3 audience partly consisted of people with sticks up their ass. I'm convinced that those people were a vocal minority, and I couldn't *believe* people were taking those comments seriously. Myself, I was practically falling out of my chair laughing, as I had never seen Devy before
Same here! I had never seen him before and I was laughing out loud! Great show.. I absolutely loved it!

Agreed. I'm not even that big a fan of Devin's music, but I found his live show hilarious and very entertaining. I can hardly believe that some people had such a huge stick up their ass that they took his schtick seriously and got offended.
