Series 60 is the second amp from our Preampus Metal Line of heads - as the name suggests, these amps are for the Metal Heads amongst us!

Series 60 is Power defined! Inspired by the power plants that drive America today, it is the most powerful amp we've ever produced here at AcmeBarGig, and we actually set out to make it equivalent to an 8,000 watt amplifier, so believe us when we say there's enough power in this amp to make your skull crumble and your toes go numb!

Add in the fact series 60 comes with a built-in Drive Amp and you have some scary potential for gain, the Death Metallers out there should LOVE the Series 60!

So download Series 60 now and get jamming out some super-heavy Metal tracks! It's been a while since Preampus Week, so hopefully you've calmed down enough to check this fantastic new specimen out!

Download Series 60 here:

Bear in mind the Preampus Metal amps are HEAD ONLY, you will NEED to use some external cabinet modeling, we highly recommend LePou's LeCab, which you can grab here:

Thanks Guys...I for one am really looking forward to hearing what you all come up with..

I noticed that it was really hard to get a decent tone with passive humbuckers out of this one and the grain of the fizz is really weird sounding, except the yellow heavy preset sounded pretty good with just a little tweaking. btw, is it just me or is the drive amp really REALLY subtle? I can notice a small difference if I turn it on and off, but if I turn the drive amp EQ from 0 to 11, I don't hear any difference.

Well AHJ in terms of drive and gain...Tonal changes manifest themselves more as a wave shaping apparatus than a frequency change.. as in high low mid..But it is a subtle amp yes..

This one's not for me, I suppose. I can't find a tone I dig. But I have trouble finding a tone I like on amps that drive power more than the preamp, and usually, amps that aren't British. I'm used to going guitar -> TS -> ampsim -> Nebula, and just being satisfied right away. This one's definitely a different beast in that it's more power-oriented.

C-15 may be more your thing...there's more to come, hopefully one of them will be more toy your tastes, After C-15 there is th FH16 as well as the ISX(Nothing to do with Peavey JSX)..So, hang in there, hopefully we get one matched with ya, but thanks for checking it out

Wow, I nearly blew out my expensive 50$ (sarcasm) Creative computer speakers with this amp! I'm working on my music from home these days since I'm still writing the songs for my next project and thus... I really don't have any fine control over the mix from here, but here is what I threw together. I replaced the amp sims I was using in my latest song and took a couple riffs from that song to show the Series 60 amp real quick. No bass guitar... just dual tracked guitars with the Series 60 for the simulation.

Hope the mix isn't so bad that it offends anybody haha. I just spent 10 minutes on this really... I think it SEEMS pretty decent, atleast from what I can hear through these speakers :p

Edit: One thing I did notice though is that this amp sim used about twice the CPU juice as my regular guitar FX chain does :) Maybe I should post a comparison clip too so you guys can hear what the original sounds like...

Here it is with my regular guitar chain: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/585020/Mainstream Regular Chain.mp3 <-- I find this one to have much smoother and more gorgeous low mids than the Series 60 clip but then again, I did spend 10 minutes on the Series 60 while I've spent ... probably hours and hours and HOURS on my chain :p So yeah...

Edit 2: Yeah yeah, the playing is sloppy but these are only scratch tracks! :D And on a second comparison... if I had beefened up the low end a little more on the Series 60 clip, it would actually be quite good! Amirite or is it just my speakers lying to me? =)

:kickass: I'm off this weekend and cant wait to finally try out all of these AcmeBarGig Preampus Sims... starting with Series 60!!! :headbang:

If I've noticed anything about Series 60...and in fact the rest of the Metal Line....They seem to grow on you once you explore more of the possibilities...I've had so far a lot of people decide that they did not like whatever one of these only to in about a week, change their mind. These are ABG releases, so, just like any other ABG release there is a learning curve to the tonal; possibilities. I mean we're worked really hard at making things more apparent than they were in other releases, but there is still a lot of room left to explore. Sometimes we throw new concepts at you as well, like using colors to describe a drive type, and we will be adding a lot more colors in future, we actually have another 7 defined already...Drive Color technology will also make an appearance in our new Tube compressor called Hydraulic very soon, and it is a technology we will be expanding into virtually every effect and amp we make.

edit: Just notice your post john...What drive color was that, and what dosage...dude!!! Very cool

BTW When the drive amp gets released, probably this week, the drive color knob will be re-labelled to Color Dosage..
