Pretty Maids!!!!! You all better be there so Glenn can keep booking these bands!!

Glad to see the support of Pretty Maids in here. They are one of three bands that would make me go to PP next year. The rest i could careless about right now. that might change over time, but from the announcement Pretty Maids is the big one for me since i have been wanting to see them for years. and for the Bon Jovi reference?! go listen to Future World and maybe, just maybe you can hear some Helloween influence in there. bottom line is Pretty Maids rule and will put on a kick ass show.

go to ebay, etc... As far as i know most of the albuns are out of print...including the 2010 album....

This reflects what I said earlier. It is fine to list a bunch if albums the band produced but if you can't buy the doggone things what difference does it make?
I went to the insider sale table and dropped a c note, buying up the bands that I did not alreAdy have content for.

Itunes? I think not. I always defer to Glenn's judgement and will be on the rail for PM...but that has more to do with the group that follows them.

Did Ken sellout of Lethal Heroes (or known as Jump The Gun) and Future World? I saw them on the table when i was up there, but he may have sold out. So i wouldn't necessarily blame the band for low stock at a vendor table. Kudos for wanting to check them out. They truly are awesome band who has stood the tests of time.

I know Metal Works reissued Future World and Lethal Heroes at one point but they may be out of print. It's the same label who did the Fifth Angel and Killer Dwarfs reissues and other Sony Records metal.

I got into Pretty Maids back in the mid to late 80's as they were a Helloween like band to me and have been into them ever since. When I got home last night and when to my cd shelves to grab the bands for next year's festival, I was pleasantly surprised to see I had every album of Pretty Maids already. I guess I thought that I had missed some over the years but because they can go 5 years or so in between releases, i was good. Everyone needs these 2 by the band: Future World and Pandemonium.

hahahaha, i had the same thing happen with the latest two on Frontiers when a buddy and i were quizzing each other. i was like i think there was one between the latest and Wake Up In The Real World, but yeah they do go a bit of time between releases.

These guys have always struck me as a bunch of Bon Jovi clones and never given them much thought.
I think we all have bands like that, for whom we have a preconceived notion, that keeps us from digging into them.

While PM is distinctly 80s, they bare any similarities to Bon Jovi. I'm not incredibly familiar with them. I got Future Worlds back in the day, loved it, and never heard another thing from them.

Never heard another thing from them??!! :hypno:

Blasphemy!

Methinks I am going to have to remedy that situation.

I nearly passed out from excitement when PM was announced. Really looking forward to seeing them.

Seriously, one spin of Pandemonium ought to put any stereotypes or Bon Jovi comparisons to rest. And yes, it's still available.

This is the band that guarantees my attendance next year.

Great band! Really looking forward to them next year!

I totally agree with whomever said just listen to Pandemonium. Bon Jovi couldn't get that heavy if a 2 ton weight was dropped on them.

Really true. Bon Jovi could never be heavy like Pretty Maids even in his wildest dreams. But Pretty Maids can be as light as Bon Jovi during their ballads...Which makes the band really interesting, the variety of styles they can play so well.

As someone already mentioned, their 'singles" are not a fair representation of their overall sound. Sure they showcase their melodic variety, but their non-singles tracks are a truer representation. Thirding the suggestion of Pandemonium, Spooked, Future World and Red Hot as fair representation. Anything Worth...as well as Sin-Decade are also very high on my list.

Pretty Maids is one of the most consistent bands when it comes to quality power rock/metal, especially for one that has been around for nearly thirty years. They are definitely one of my all-time favorite bands. I love all of their releases, but the highlights for me are Future World (of course!), Scream (not enough people bring up this album...great stuff!) and Pandemonium. This band alone will most likely get my butt to Atlanta next year, after missing the last 4 PP fests (though I did attend the Gamma Ray/Helloween pre-show concert a few years back).
