Now that made me even more curious, even though at this point I can't stand that synth setting in at 1.59 for this angry outbreak. Anyway, this is going to be a hell of an interesting album I suppose. I already discovered some incredibly cool and well-executed ideas and beautiful music in this sample. What total running time will the whole album have btw?

The slower parts with the clean vocals are heart-touching... and the faster parts are just "awakening" (and something different from all that other stuff around at the moment)... ah, what am I trying here? Am I trying to find words to describe Vintersorg`s music??? ... you just have to FEEL it anyway!!

You are great musicians but the lyrics
and music is to complex with too much
here and there. I'm just confused..

Guess I like a bit more straight forward music
the previous albums before "Visions..."
"Ödemarkens son", "Till fjälls" was brilliant
with their natureromantic lyrics which are not that
complicated and sophisticated as on your last records..
The music created a motion with their sound a majesty
that I not find in your your last albums, but I understand
that one can not create the same thing over and over again,
so with all respect carry on what you're doing...

I hope many people will like this and
buy your new record..;)
 
I know what you mean Futhark.
Vintersorg's best albums IMO is "Till Fjälls" and "Ödemarkens" simply because I can related to the lyrics but lyrics aren't everything.
I listen to Borknagar and I don't understand a word they are singing about but they still kick ass.
 
yeah i know what ya mean too, esp. seeing as how i'm not a huge math person... but still, i think it's pretty cool how on the last album he managed to relate it to other stuff (religion etc) and that musically, it kicks SO MUCH ASS!!!!
 
Whoa that was quite a sample...to start I'd say I'd rather have one whole song (as we had with Universums last album) because this is just a blur (no pun intended :p) of musical ideas it seems.

The first part brings to mind Cosmic Genesis era VS for some reason, the sound of his voice and the acoustics all sound excellent. The following 2 minutes sound extremely VFTSG-esque with the wierd electronics and the bass interludes. Now the last part (A Microscopical Macrocosm?) seems like its going to go the way of The Enigmatic Spirit and A Star Guarded Coronation, which is just fine by me because I found this last section just beautiful.

Can't wait to hear the damn things thats for sure, I have some doubts but than again this sample gave me some hopes as well :)
 
It's very hard to give you a fair picture with only some clips, but I think it's better to have some from different songs than just one whole song. As you all know, Vintersorg is about so many genres, so picking one song that could represent the album is impossible, even the pre-listening isn't really a great thing to judge from, as it contains so much more.

So incredibly annoying. I am sitting here at a computer in my school and discovered a preview-sample from The Focusing Blur!!!
Can´t download it, cause there´s no loudspeakers whatsoever here. And at home, my very thrashed computer is the only thing that awaits me....
Aarrrrrghhhh! I so much wanted to hear how this will sound!!!
I guess I'll have to take your words on it!
 
I like the preview a lot more the second way through. The only part I'm still kinda at odds with is the piano part that starts at 1:04 :zombie:. Sounds very...old west-ish? :p. Also the very first part of the preview sounds like something off of Visions and would be my second least favorite part of the clip.

I'm hungering to hear full songs now !:eek:
