so when you buy a guitar...does price matter to you? cause to me and thing below maybe 550 will be considered crap and anything above 1500 i consider overpriced and overrated

I've bought my fair share of USA Jackson bolt-ons for about the $500 price range, or the Charvel imports in the $300-$500 range and they're excellent guitars.
My latest custom cost me $3500, but it's exactly what I wanted, down to the neck shape, body woods and overall specs.

gotta agree w/ both of ya in some aspects...1) anything under $300 or so I would be pretty sceptical about, but then again, I bought my Ibanes for $179 and other than the crappy stock pickups, its a great guitar. 2) anything over $1500 i'd say is a ripoff, with the exception of custom guitars. nothing beats getting the exact guitar you want, down to the type of tree it came from...

+1. ya got a good point... I've never had the chance to try the invaders, I hear good things tho...I use EMG's right now, but I've been wanting to throw some invader-7's in my Ibanez and see how they sound.
i bought an ESP LTD EX-102, with standard Duncan Designed for $250(store was going out of business) and replaced the pickups for a Dimarzio X2N and Evolution neck. id say it sounds pretty damn good.
