Hey about french metal bands antaeus , archon infaustus and the entire french black metal scene is amazingly sick!!
And in hardcore areas Kikcback are pretty good.

Those bands are totally underground. Arkhon Infaustus is good on CD but I saw them live once it was quite boring. it's true the French BM scene is pretty sick with bands like Seth also etc...
I prefer my good'old HxC scene with Kickback like you mentioned. they kick ass ! Kickback's moshpit is the most dangerous place i ever went to...
Tho the guys seem to be really stupid fuckers ! Bands like Fat Society , Forest in Blood , Drifting Breed or The A.R.R.S are soon to take over them anyway

I'm very interested in underground black metal and archon kick ass! Seth aren't that sick, good band but nothing special as antaeus! I'm not so interested in hardcore but Kickback are a good band but they are indeed stupid as antaeus and archon are stupid with their "I hope you die" project. But they play good old fahioned grim black metal so i like 'em!
