Anyone have any info on this prject by Dave Grohl? Is it going ahead? When the hell will it be released!!! This should've long been out, it was discussed ages ago..........

Dave is one of the most talented musicians out there! He writes awesome tunes.
Did you hear his live version of Stairway to heaven???? I've never heard such a powerful combination of raw emotion and downright keel-over-laughing humor! I've got as much respect for this guy as I do Opeth.

Yes, I saw that show. I was laughing, but also a bit embarassed, even though I knew he was just screwing around. I knew some die-hard Led Zep fans would take it as an insult, which some did. Foo Fighters fans understand Dave's silliness, but those outside the Foo realm don't, which is what led to some taking offence. I think I have the MP3 of that. Dave went on the show again and actually explained the circumstances of them playing that song (it wasn't a serious attempt, never was meant to be aired, and it was a random thing that they decided to have fun with and do for the audience). Dave's great. I've had the pleasure of chatting with him a couple of times during the last tour (in which I saw them at least 5 times, including a three hour gig in which they went through each album and played some covers at the Black Cat in DC). At one of the shows, he even remembered me from a previous time that we talked and was like "oh, hey!!! how are you?" while reaching out to shake my hand. Also, a part of me (not literally) ended up on MTV when they talked to Dave for a special they had about "the life of a rock star" or whatever.
