Professional 1993 live-recording!?! (read!)

Hallo!!

When I was surfing the web today I found something very interesting.

This is taken from a bootleg trade list :

CEREMONIAL OATH, 93.04.03.....Huddinge, Huset.....10min.....EX.....FM

THERION, 93.04.03.....Huddinge, Huset.....10min.....EX.....FM

DISMEMBER, 93.04.03.....Huddinge, Huset.....25min.....EX.....FM

FURBOWL, 93.04.03.....Huddinge, Huset.....10min.....EX.....FM

Those boots are all FM-sourced.

I have checked old playlist from Swedish Radio, and found that they have broadcast those gigs the following dates:

1993-04-15: Ceremonial Oath, Dismember & Furbowl

1993-07-08: Rion & At The Gates

I don´t know when the Therion-gig was sent or how the trader got his hand on it.

Now to something very interesting. This was posted by Mikael Åkerfedt here earlier this year. The thred was about the Opeth gig history:

SWEDEN:
Sundbyberg 1991 (with Therion, Authorize and Excruciate)
Gothenbourg - Blå fågeln -91 (with At the gates, Therion, Megaslaughter, Desecrator and Sarcazm)
Akalla - Träff - 1991 or 92(with Asphyx and Desultory)
Huddinge - Huset -93 (with Moahni moahna and Devoured)
Huddinge - Huset -93 (with Dismember, At the gates, Ceremonial oath and more?)
Eskilstuna 1994 (with Dismember...this gig we did all of "Orchid" apart from the instrumentals!)

This means that Swedish Radio was recording that night when Opeth was playing!!! It seems like it was never broadcasted, but was the gig recorded?? It should be very interesting to here a high quality recording from those days....!!

Maybe Mikael can give us a little more information about this...??

Maybe that was the old one that they didn't like and never broadcasted.

They refused the Hultsfred 2001-recording. Do you mean this, or have you heard of an older recording?

the oldest Opeth i've got is that live in Akalla, Stockholm gig 1991 of that bootleg site, about 3 songs i think it is. as with most bootlegs you listen to it once and never play it again...

I guess I meant that one. I have no idea what this 1993 one is, then.

I´ve got the Akalla-gig too. The sound sucks (sounds like they are playing in the biggest venue in the world) but it´s funny to hear some elements from Orchid and Morningrise.

Maybe most bootlegs from early -90´s sucks, but does a recording from huset -93 exist it´s almost perfect...!!

You guys have all these bootlegs on your computers? Are they videos?...

The only bootleg video I have is them playing at the Witchwood... Before they play Forest of Octobre, Mike says that Blood Divine will be next... I'd like to see some older shows...

Nectar: Maybe you should try contacting the radio.. I have been in contact with them before, and they are mostly very helpful. Try mailing the guy or someone connected to P3 Rock or P3 live.
