So today as I was celebrating the birth of one Daniel Gildenlow I realized I don't have much from this time frame. Am I missing out on some real gems? I'd like some suggestions from obscurer stuff from bands that didn't end up breaking out afterward.

Suggestions please, and preferably some help finding it! :)

Divine Regale-Ocean Mind
Secrecy-Raging Romance

So today as I was celebrating the birth of one Daniel Gildenlow...

Wow, really?

Anyways, here's a few really good ones, not necessarily Prog Metal but full of progressive influences and stuff:

Conception - Every single album
Amorphis - Elegy
Angra - Holy Land

Aztec Jade - Frame Of Mind
Digital Ruin - Listen
Royal Hunt - Moving Target and Paradox
Shadow Gallery - Carved In Stone
Threshold - Wounded Land and Psycedelicatessen

There was this really obscure band from New York who released an album in 1993. Images and Words, I think it was called. The same band made another album called Awake in 94 and an ep called A Change of Seasons in 1995.

Forgot the band's name though . . . ::lol::

Dream Theater - Images and Words, Awake, A Change of Seasons
Symphony X - The Damnation Game, The Divine Wings of Tragedy
Royal Hunt - Moving Target, Paradox (technically '97)
Fates Warning - Parallels ('91), Inside Out
Vanden Plas - Colour Temple, The God Thing
House of Spirits - Turn of the Tide
Threshold - Wounded Land
Ayreon - The Final Experiment
Angra - Angels Cry, Holy Land
Savatage - Edge of Thorns, Handful of Rain, Dead Winter Dead
Enchant - A Blueprint For the World, Wounded
Evergrey - The Dark Discovery ('97)
Glenmore - For the Sake of Truth
Letter X - Born Into Darkness
Conception - Parallel Minds
Sanvoisen - Soul Seasons

Lots of gems from that era. In addition to the ones already listed, here is what I have in my collection which fits your parameters (prog, or can reasonably be considered "prog", from 1991-1997):

Abstrakt Algebra - s/t
Alias - Metal to Infinity

Arkhe - s/t

X Factor X - s/t

EDIT: I've just realized that about 80% or so of my prog collection comes from the 90s. I guess the newer stuff doesn't do it for me as much. :)

Altura--"Mercy"
Artension--"Into The Eye Of The Storm"
Athena--"Inside The Moon" (though the vocals are a little hard to swallow, the music rips!)
Auditory Imagery--"Reign" and "So Alive"
Defyance--"Amaranthine"
Elegy--"Labyrinth Of Dreams," "Supremacy," and "Lost"
Imperium--"Too Short A Season"
Mystic Force--"A Step Beyond"
Without Warning--"Making Time"

Outside of these albums, I think Boob pretty much covered it all.

Stay metal. Never rust.

The ones that popped into my head quickest were ... under the radar type stuff as requested

Sanvoisen - Soul Season
House Of Spirits - Turn Of The Tide
The Quiet Room - Introspect
