Progpower III

Sorry, I guess I didn't answer the question. No, I probably won't go because I don't listen to any of those bands. But November is a long ways off, so who knows.

I'll be going to Atlanta for this again. I just hate that I couldn't go the 2nd day last year and see Spiral Architect and Evergrey. I got to see Ark, Nightingale, Angel Dust, and Balance of Power. We left 2 songs into Symphony X because we had a 4 hour drive home, and it was already about 1AM. Their songs sounded exactly the same, and we were really tired.

So, I plan to get the 2 day pass and get hotel reservations in Atlanta this year. I am not sure how it's gonna work out since I'll be in college, and my brother will be attending graduate school at another college. I am sure we'll be able to plan way ahead of time and make room in our schedules. I really want to see Blind Guardian and need to check out Pain of Salvation and Gamma Ray. The overall experience of ProgPower as far as meeting other fans and getting to talk to the band members is worth it. I had a really good time last year and hate that I didn't go the second day. Besides, there are tons of vendors selling lots of rare prog/metal cds. I will take more money this year. :)

There were so many Opeth shirts there last year when I went. That would be great if Opeth could make it to ProgPower. There is always one or two bands who doesn't quite fit the mold of the other bands. Last year Nightingale filled in that spot. I like how Glenn tries to have variety and attract different people. There are still 3 unconfirmed slots. I am just wondering if the double album might possibly interfere with this. They might be touring after the double album, and this might be a part of a US tour. *crosses fingers* It's nice to dream anyway. I would walk to Atlanta a week in advance if I knew Opeth were going to be there. :)

You'll definitely see me if you go. It is a very small venue and has a great atmosphere. You should really try to go, man.

I saw Evisceratrix last year but wasn't exactly sure it was her. I sent her a PM about a day before the show saying I was going, and she responded to say she was also going to be there and to say "Hey" to her. Well, when I made it back from the show I got her PM saying she'd be there.

Well why the hell not? I don't care where on Earth you are, if this is made official, you have until JULY until tickets even go on sale, and until NOVEMBER to actually get there.

ANYONE can raise the needed money in this period of time... if they actually want to see the show, instead of whining that they can't go.
