ProgPower takes over the Artmore in 2010

That's the thing. When it was still the Granada, the Best Western site would not let me book stating that it was full. But when it became the Artmore, I managed to snag a room. Not exactly sure how that was allowed to happen. We'll see when we get there on Thursday.

Same thing happened to me. We'll see come Friday.....

Did you cancel your reservation at the Artmore in favor of the Residence Inn?

Yep, I did for this year. I just hope the Residence doesn't screw up! Hopefully, coming in on Wednesday night will improve my chances of actually getting a room. :)

FYI - all rooms at The Artmore have fridges.

On Nov. 5, 2009, The Artmore unveiled its new fire and water feature within the Artisan Courtyard. Here are some before and after pix:

Nice! A fireplace, in Atlanta, in the middle of the summer! We won't have to worry about freezing to death. :)

Seriously, looks pretty damn cool though.

It was later changed to first come, first serve. There was a HUGE line on Saturday morning (I know, I was there). All the rooms were booked in a very short amount of time. Maybe you can find a cancellation between now and September. Good luck!

The Artmore is alright. Nothing spectacular and in my opinion very overrated and overpriced. I've stayed in other hotels in the vicinity for a fraction of the cost and never had a problem. And yes I did stay there for 3 years straight. I feel they and the Residence Inn price gouge for this event. The first year that happened and they quoted me the inflated price of their rooms I said no thanks. I mean you can still party and mingle in the courtyard. But why let them treat you so disrespectfully? I stay downtown within walking distance of all the restaurants and the tourist spots with a restaurant in the hotel plus a swimming pool for $79 a night. $5 cab ride to boot!
