We've got our first gig coming up soon and I just finished recording our newest track. We've given this song three major overhauls and decided that we'd stick with this one so we had a concrete version to learn for our debut gig, which is on the 24th (solos are sketches, so excuse them). I could do with some feedback on the mix as my ears are pretty burnt out! It's not a perfect mix by any means and I'm aware of some faults already but some of them could just as well be my ears being really tired.
The song is in a .zip file I made for our drummer Leon to help him learn the song. I thought it might be interesting for people to listen to the instruments and drums on their own. Thought it might help people identify problems more easily.
The drums aren't humanized and the instruments aren't tracked particularly well, in case that gets picked up on. It's also my first mix using monitors although I'd expect the benefits of this to be offset by my ears adjusting to them. I used a Loomis going into the line-in on my desktop PC (recording this song properly with my interface should sound a bunch better!).
