Bump! I'd like to see some pics, I'm in need of a new guitar, although I don't have the money... yet. The crappy one I own, I have had it for about five years, and it wasn't even new when I bought it. I'm rehearsing with this new band right now, my guitar makes the most earwrecking noises in the rehearsal room! It's got some real shabby wiring I suppose, got to take a look at it soon.

Carvin looks like a pretty interesting option, even more so with the dollar being so cheap compared to the euro. Which means, a 'better-than-a-PRS' guitar for less than €1000. Pretty awesome (although I don't know what their shipping costs are). The only disadvantage will be not being able to play/see it beforehand, I guess.

stock carvin pickups, active and extremely high output. shit on stock prs pickups. the tech specs are on the carvin website.
shipping can be a big problem, but it helps with the strong euro/pound/yen/everything but usd. in terms of the play-virginity, you'll just have to take a leap of faith like i did never looked back.

I'm not one to judge on guitar tones or manufacturing ... I just love the flying-bird inlays on the PRS guitars. They rock, they own, they're just amazingly beautiful 
. They make me want to buy a PRS. Sadly, I rarely have time for playing (or an amp to match the quality of a PRS), so it would be a complete waste of money.

i just bought a secondhand prs singlecut se for $400. perfect condition. such a steal! im loving it. eventually i will probably upgrade the pickups though

yeah its great, the guy really kept it in amazing condition. you could pass it off as new besides a tiny bit of palm wear. very happy with it!
