PT9 + Mac Question

I've been running Protools for years now always on PC. Time for a Computer upgrade now and will be going Mac. Currently using PT8.

PT9 looks cool, New Features don't really phase me all that much, only for my usage. What Im interested to know is that, from what I can gather, PT9 is 64 bit Compatible, but not actually 64 Bit operational on PC. Please Correct Me if Im Wrong.

Is this the Same with PT on Mac? Worth The Upgrade from a Performance Perspective?

Also Does anyone know of a new iMac Release. Macbook Pro just got a new Release, wondering if the iMac is Due out soon? Im Interested in the 27" i7 Quad.

Apple updated their iMac line in August, I can't see them doing it again so soon, but you never know.

I run a 27" i7 Quad iMac with Bro Tools and it works really well
