purchased a Jazz Bass

Hi guys,

just purchased a VM Jazz Bass and curious about upgrading of the electronic and pickups.
Would be cool if you recommend me some pickups(active or passive) and how it will improve the instrument.
(When I got the shipment, I will do some DI-Clips.)
Usage just metal and studio work.

Also which strings do you prefer for D-Tunings?

I also have a VM j-bass. No complaints about the pups (I actually think they're quite good). May think about putting a Gotoh 201 or Badass bridge to help increase sustain a bit.

If you are hating the pups Seymour Duncan Set all day. Mate has a Mex P and dropped a SD Quarter pounder in it and its brutal! Good Luck!

You said your bass sound really good in the room, but sucks at recording. So all in all this should be the problem?!
Im really interested how drastically the sound will change with some very unlike pickups like these:

When it arrives, I think I will borrow some different pickups at my local store and will do a shootout!
