Queensryche-bass sound

Hi,

I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction getting a Queensryche-like bass sound. Like on Operation Mindcrime/Empire-era.

example:

I have a Ampeg SVX software and some compressors/eq´s and so on and I have a Ibanez 5 string bass with active pick up´s.

Any advice appreciated!

it's the player, the bass,(with new strings) and the amp. you cannot get that sound on a dead bass.

On the Live Evolution dvd, he's sportin Tech21 rackmounted SansAmp, from what I remember...

Check with the German band Evidence One, anyone who can. I haven't listened to it recently, but I remember their 2004 album "Tattooed Heart" sounding in places like they traveled back in time to record it with Queensryche's gear during a Mindcrime session coffee break.
