Queensryche

I went and saw them when they toured through Houston and I went with a junior and 2 seniors (I'm a freshman, so I felt pretty damn kool)

If it wasn't the most theatric and spellbinding concert ever.

They played through MC 1&2

I enjoyed MC1 because I'd listened to it more, but both were good

And they played Jet City Woman as an encore

Fucking awesome

Everything through OMC is essential.

Both OMC and especially Rage For Order are among the best prog metal albums ever.

For the last couple years, liking Rage For Order after all has been the hip thing, and if you don't, you're totally not cool.

The band started on a steady downhill decline following the departure of Chris DeGarmo in 1994-95; then, the incline that they've been on has been steepening to a straight drop down, especially if O:MII is any indication. :Puke:

This once-great band is now suitable for flushing down the toilet, both onstage and in the studio. Unlike their early influence, Iron Maiden, their shows have shown less energy. I've all the inclination to see them now as I do to see Ozzy.

Damn, that's pretty harsh. I wouldn't say they've reached an Ozzy-level of low, but they're definitely not as refreshing.

Hey, opinions were asked for, and you know the old saying about opinions and people. :) Seriously, though...O:MII made me wish for the Tribe days - and that's not a good thing. It's sad, too because they were such a great band. I still listen to their old stuff and I still have the memories of a great live band, but they're not the same band anymore.

I'm not abandoning all hope of them producing a good album. Even some of my favorite bands of all time (Slayer, Kiss, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Morbid Angel, Kreator, Tool and others) have produced some real turkeys in their time and come back with great albums, so I'm not completely writing them off.
