Question about drum replacement regarding cymbals

I have been reading everyone's advice on sound replacing drums using triggers. I do have a question regarding cymbals.

The drummer I am recording has a roland V-Kit with the VCymbals. I am wondering if we trigger and mic his real kit, we are doing this we want to have the option of using real sounds from the kit as well as samples, should we use the VCymbals to reduce bleed?

I will be replacing the drums using SlateDrums, just an idea. Dunno if this is wasting time.

if you want to use the Vdrum cymbals and real toms/snare/kick and the replace the drums, I say you're wasting time with the real kit... just capture midi from the vdrums and repalce with that.
