Was it in a jewel case with a sleeve over it? I saw one at tower records today and I wanted to get it but I didn't know if it was the first pressing. I dunno if I'd get it anyways, i've never been into paying money just to collect cds, but it's opeth.

with a sleeve? if by that you mean a cardboard cover with the tracklist on the back and the girl on the front... then thats what i have, and i suppose its the first pressing, no bonus tracks or nada

1999 - Original European version (greyish disc, jewel case)

2000 - Re-release (printed disc, slip-case) - this is what you saw.. its pretty rare!

2003 - Re-release (printed disc, digi-pack)

The music is the same on all versions though - with production hazzles and all!

mine also says 1999, i think we both have the same, but most likely got a re-release...

explain the difference between a 'slip-case' adn a digi-pack please... i always thought digi packs had extra tracks?

about the slip: On the backside, below the "peaceville" print, do you only have "1999" printed, or does the sentence "2000 Peaceville records" also appear?

Cause they should have both dates. Otherwise, it's mighty strange.

Chaveta: Slipcase, digipack, jewelcase - they are all defining the packaging of the CD, and has nothing to do with whats on the actual CD. But most often, a digi version has a more unlimited jewel case-brother.
Again, the digipack is made of cardboard and slipcase is a jewel inside a cardboard sleeve.

that was the hardest one for me to find, i ordered it from Borders and it was decently cheap. i got the slip cover one as well with the 1999 peaceville records and under that it says * this release * 2000 peaceville records. and then it says 2000 peaceville records again...

AWESOME!

I have the 2000 one with the printed disc and slip-case. I don't even play it in a CD player. I make digital copies of it on disposable CDs do I don't take any chances of scratching it.

I should keep it in a locked vault. It's the greatest CD ever.

The first pressing of Still Life was JUST the jewel case version WITHOUT the slipcase. The CD itself is gray with just the "O" from their logo on it. I know this because I have this version that I bought the day it came out. The second pressing a year or so later was the jewel case with the slipcase. The CD itself is a picture of the cover. The third pressing is the digipak which most of you proudly own because you weren't a fan of the band when the original version came out.

i have the second pressing. *feels proud*

those cardboard sleeve cases are pretty cool. my jewel cases always get cracked and fucked up (the case for my copy of BWP got cracked to hell, so i took the back card with the tracks on it and the liner notes out and moved them to the case for an old copy of Doom i have) but not all of them are that good. meh.
