Same thing... chatting with Daniel Gildenlow in a couple of days. Yes, I know what some of you are thinking... but this will be an awesome interview nonetheless. :)

Questions?

As a man who is always looking ahead, what convinced Daniel to take a look into his past and perform "Remedy Lane?" Not that I'm complaining. It's one of my five favorite albums of all time. I'm really just curious.

Stay metal. Never rust.

I could answer this one, but I'm not going to.:lol::lol::lol:

Questions?

Since PoS is one of my favorite bands, and Daniel one of my favorite singers and lyricists, here are a few (I'm sure you would already ask a couple of them, but…):

- How's the health? All done with flesh-eating bacteria, I hope? Did that experience change your perspective on being a vegetarian (I seem to remember that he is a vegetarian)? :p

- What's the next direction for PoS? Back to ProgMetal a la Perfect Element, Remedy Lane, etc? Continuing the retro vibe of the Road Salt duo? Other?

- How was to see "your" band going off to do the Progressive Nation cruise without you? Did you feel different about it before and after the show?

- Do you listen to your own CDs much once they're done and been out for at least a few months? If so, how much, and which one(s) most?

- Taken as a whole, and setting side the usual bias artists have for their newer works, what do you feel is your best/worst work? In other words, if YOU/Daniel were recommending one and only one studio PoS CD to someone and that's the only one they'd ever hear, which one would it be? Which one would you definitely NOT pick?

- Your favorite PoS song lyrically, completely ignoring the music?

- Any chance of getting the ProgPower Remedy Lane set recorded for DVD release?

- What inspired the significant change of style for the Road Salt releases?

- What do you do when not making awesome music? (I'll leave it to Greg as to whether he wants to leave the word "awesome" in there). :-)

Thanks!

Craig

With the lineup changes, what's his opinion on this incarnation of the band? Pretty boring and standard question but its the best I got.

I have a couple.

First, I'm sure this is an overused question but ....

What bands do you currently listen to?

Second, can you ask Danny G if we can expect a hip hop album anytime soon?:heh:

I wonder if going through such a shocking and serious health issue has left him with a renewed sense of urgency or agency regarding the band. It seems like the last few years that they band has had to navigate a lot of external circumstances (Health issues, members leaving, Prog Nation tour & tour cancellation, label issues) that perhaps has influenced their direction quite a bit. I wonder if now that he is on the other side of this health issue, he sees it as a fresh start creatively for the band.

Also, I wonder (not sure how to put this into a good question) why a band that prided itself early on always evolving sonically has stayed with the retro Linoleum/Road Salt sound for 5 years now. I suspect the answer might be what I was talking about above.
