So my band was recording a while back with my set up. I have a AKG perception 200 mic. We were recording and everythng was going fine and then all of a sudden, the mic started getting quieter and quieter. Eventually we heard no sound at all being picked up from the mic. Ive told many people this and noone knows how to explain it.

I tried the phantom power on my interface and the phantom power on my vocalists mixer. It wont work. So i was thinking, could it maybe be my XLR cable? It works with a dynamic mic, but is there maybe some reason that phantom power cant run through my cable? If you might know whats wrong with my mic, please let me know.

Also, is there a way to test phantom power with a dynamic mic? Just to be safe maybe the phantom power is no longer working on my interface and my mixer. I know when i press it, theres a little kinda pop when i turn it on. Idk, now im just ranting. Thanks for any help

I sse that you have tried "your" mic and cable with "your" phantom power device and the same combination on your friends device. I think from reading that you tried a dynamic microphone with the same combination. But did you try "your" microphone with another XLR cable (a known working one)? At least rule out it being the microphone first.

Yeah I've had a similar problem with my Perception 200. I just figured the jacks on them are a bit shit.
