he's going to be doing newton faulker type music, nice acoustic with vocals. and i got him to change his strings yesterday :)

i can get a line out from the acoustic, i got a SM57 that i'm planning to aim at the 12th fret about 4 inches away(he needs space to tap), but i also have a Rode NT2a

were do u guys recomend i stick the Rode? and what polar pattern on th mic?

cheers guy!

Find the sweet spot on the body of the guitar, most of the time it's just below the bridge - point the condenser there about 1ft back. Should give a nice ambience to the guitar. If not there then throw it up over the right hand shoulder of the player, around head height, facing down towards the guitar.

You should get a pretty nice tone from either of those positions.

It is where the 24th fret would have been. ;)
