Quick question if I play shows like every other weekend starting at the beginning of May through the end of October how many shows would I be playing?

Early May through end of October is six months or twenty-six weeks. Every other weekend is half that, or thirteen shows assuming you only play once in an odd weekend. Since those six months add up to a little more than twenty-six weeks, there's a slight chance you could play as many as fourteen shows.
The moral of the story is, I guess, always read the fine print on your contract.
