Quick Question

I've found lately if at any time, in any way, I download an album, out of guilt, I'll go out to a store and buy it. I don't know if it's out of respect for the band or if it's just the fact that it doesn't sit right knowing that you're stabbing some of your favorite bands in the back. So now I'm near broke due to this, but it feels right knowing that if you meet the band some day, you can say I bought all of your albums.

Plus, there's a desire in me to somehow get in the music some way or another, so I put it in perspective that if I do at some time work in that business, by not buying CD's, some people would be losing tons of money.

Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

Yes. I can't listen to a burnt album - not because of the quality (which I don't even notice), but because I feel so guilty, that it ruins the experience for me. As a result, I'm spending more money than I can afford to listen to new music.

Now I need an acoustic/electric, or a new set of pick ups (those EMG's are actually pissing me off, my clean channel has the worst sound) or a new guitar. Either way, it isn't going to be cheap.

Get a Martin. I swear I cream every time I play one. As for electrics, both my Ibanez's have a totally sexy clean channel, plus the bridge pickups are excellent for soloing with distortion.

Only one problem. The cheapest Martin is still probably too much for me.......

And I won't be replacing my electric any time soon. I'm hoping to do so next year so I'm saving up for a PRS Johnny Hiland model. As you might of read before, I'm moving more into rhythm than lead.

I honestly don't think that bands go through all the pain and stress
of coming up with something fresh and exciting every 2-3 years just for
some kid to download it off of Limewire. I have no problem coughing up
$20-25 for an album to support a band I like.

Exactly!
It's the work that goes into it after months of touring. You aren't just paying for an album, you're basically paying their salary!
