Rack Bag ?

Hi everybody,

I have to travel by plane this summer and I need to carry 2 racks of 1 unit each and a laptop computer. I thought I could have 2 bags with me in the cabin but the bad news is this :

ONLY ONE SMALL ITEM OF HAND BAGGAGE PER PERSON, WEIGHING NO MORE THAN 10KG AND WITH DIMENSIONS OF LESS THAN 55CM X 40CM X 20CM, MAY BE CARRIED INTO THE AIRCRAFT CABIN.

They seem pretty nice but the site is only in german (argh).

So I'd need a rack bag witch could contain these 2 racks + my big 17" laptop + hard drives. Anybody knows something that could help ?

Well it's definately standard rack width, and it looks like it's about 5 cm or so less in depth.

i wouldn't check it as luggage for beneath the plane though.

I have one that came with my bass head made by Odyssey. Worked fine when i took it on the airplane as a carry-on.

If you do end up having to put it below, whatever you do, be sure not to write "FRAGILE" on the box. Rumor has it that the airport-dudes have a good time with those luggage pieces. I found that one out the hard way. My Tascam 4 track barely survived--despite 3 layers of masking tape, the case was still open when it came off the conveyor belt.

Next time use something other than masking tape, it's not really the most durable tape out there

it wasn't masking, it was the thick silver stuff...don't worry, there wont be a next time.
