RAGE... new album...

There we are again with another attempt to label a band. I wouldn't call "Unity" Thrash/Speed though.

Anyway, I also like that disc a lot!
I know a lot of fans were fed up with that orchestra stuff and though I enjoyed it a lot I'm also happy to have them back without it

Not to continue to push this further off topic, especially considering I was one of the people interested in learning more about Rage....

....but Rage Against the Machine is the REASON we're stuck with all this shitty nu-metal crap at the moment. Sure they're first album was very good - primarily because there weren't 47,000 others that sounded exactly like it at the time - but their whole "holier than thou" attitude really turned me off.

I.E. "We're so cool we're going to vent at the system man. It's the system perpetrated by commercial capitalism and a stagnant government that allows people to live in a nation-state like the United States. And we're dedicating our lives to rebelling against that system, man! Oh, by the way, did we mention our new album comes out Tuesday? On Sony? And MTV will be world debuting our first video that night at 6 PM? It's brought to you by Pepsi." Uh, fuck off Zack. Thank God they're gone.

Sorry, got carried away there

LOL, see, now I'm confused. The last Rage album sucked, or the last Rage Against the Machine album sucked? If it was Rage, why did it suck? I don't own any of their discs, so I don't have any frame of reference to compare them to.

all good points, but at the time the rap metal thing was new and i personally liked their first two albums(i cant stand them anymore) and well..the only way to get their music out is to embrace the commercialism that they sing against, so they had to make a choice, they chose success
