Randall G3 series cab opinions?

Hey guys,

I've been offered one of these: http://www.guitar.com.au/amplifiers/electric/randall/RA-412CV.htm

How do they compare to the studio standard cabs out there, and more notably, the Randall XL series cabs?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

well from the looks of it, it has 8 ohm v30s, most v30 cabs out there have 16 ohm v30s, its slightly smaller size compared to the mesa stiletto cab,

29.5”W x 14”D x 29.5”H

so i say get it if only you have a larger v30 cab and if you get it cheap.

No chance to check it out on your own? If it's a good deal, you might regret passing up on it... and specs only tell you so much about the sound of a cab.

As Marcus mentioned, it's the size that's daunting. I've yet to hear a small 4x12 impress me... it seems the OS models allow the speakers the room to open up some more and don't build up all that low-mid woolly shite. The price is great (for Oz) but if the damn thing will just be a showpiece then what's the point...

Mesa cabs have 8 ohm Vintage 30's, as does my Madison 4x12's.

I believe ENGLs are 8ohm (v60?) speakers as well.

I'd check it out before you just dismiss it as sounding shit because of the size of it.
