Anyone know if you can use these without the heads? 1200 seems ALOT to pay for whats basically a poweramp in a head casing. it's quite overkill
A guy I've recorded a good bit used this on our recording and it sounded pretty sweet, I'd love to be able to use some of the pre's with my own poweramps.
The treadplate module was particularly sweet sounding, I'd love to have this module alone

does the standby & fx loop trick work? Turn on the amp, but leave it on bypass. Then take a cable from the fx loop send and stick it into the input of the poweramp of your choise.

Didn't try it out when I had the guy with the rm100 in. We just used his rm100 into the cab.

Just taken a look for the chassis, haven't seen anywhere that it's for sale in europe. Also seems like it's pretty pricy for what it is- 650 dollars for something that basically interfaces them properly and gives you a line out? I've seen the rm100 for sale new for 750 sterling( about 850 euro) which gives you the same thing via effects loop and also has the poweramp.
Seems like the preamps are really good for the money but you've to pay through the nose for the ability to use them

You gotta understand though, there is very little on those preamp modules. They contain a few gain stages and some knobs. There is still a lot more that goes into an amplifier, and that is what the amp part is for. You still have a hefty power supply with proper filtering, and a power transformer, which is a bulk of the cost right there.
