This person claims she's 22.

Well, I make fun of emo's often enough and it's an overall very annoying trend, but I think we can agree that no one tries to kill themselves because it's supposed to be "cool". If she spent time in a mental institute, she probably really did have problems and as most people arent aware or in touch with what happens in their subconsciousnes, she really believed it was because she followed the emo trend.
Of course at the age of 22, she should have figured out what happened to her, but you of all people should agree that the human psyche is a very tricky thing.

@taliesin: i just think she lied, that's also why i found it funny, in a "how cliché" way.. it's really not that difficult to write "I have been in a mental hospital". maybe in this particular case it's true, but if every person i ever met on the internet who claimed to have drug problems, alcohol problems, or a mental illness was actually afflicted then I would have to conclude that the internet is populated almost only by seriously troubled people. also, i know people who really spent time in mental hospitals, and they normally don't boast about it on their MySpace page: unsurprisingly, they'd rather keep quiet.
