damn, french is so easy, like english with gay accents.everyone in france is obliged to forget the full r and go for the 'γ' thing instead?i mean its taught in schools?

I guess i can see what you mean. Unless you are into English studies, it's not taught. Well, let's say oral English is almost inexistent in school.
Anyway, we the Frogs are not born with that ability to pull our tongue forward against our teeth to make the proper 'th' sound.

But french people is lucky with this song : they can understand without a translation !

Yes, in fact I've the same problem ! lol And when we read the lyrics, we see some faults... (as my f***ing english)

Don't worry, our broken English is a delight for the native English speakers of this board

We already have drunk hobos making strange 'rrrr' sounds by clearing their throat in the night trains :tickled:

I'm simply not build to speak French, had it for 2 years in school. so embarrasing, every time I had to speak the others started laughing, before I'd even begun :p . All those nasals.

And how about that tense you only use in writing?!? What is up with that?

Passé simple ? It's almost like Shakespeare English :p

Strangest thing was we didn't have to take a written exam, still had to learn it. Having trouble understanding the concept of sth you can only use in writing.

Well i'm not able to explain it. If you speak in passé simple it will sound absolutely lame. But when you're writing something, there are moments when you don't have any alternative to passé simple.
The bourgeoisie uses passé simple when speaking, but never do so with a middle class frog like me or Mehdi, we would laugh at you :tickled:

The only thing I can say in French is "Ca va" and "ca va bien". Took me 2 years to learn that. Sad thing is that's only a slight exaggeration.
